General Information
St. Mary’s High School, North Lakhimpur is a private Catholic educational institution, established, managed and run by Missionary Sisters of Mary Help Christian, according to principles and methods of the great educator Don Bosco, which is based on reason, religion and kindness.
This school aims at the education of the Catholic Community around, but extends its service to members of other communities to the extent possible.
The primary aim of the institution is to impart sound formation( Religion, Moral, Psychological, Social, Intellectual and Physical based on the principles of Christian faith to the members of Christian Community. It also imparts holistic formation to all other admitted to this institution. Ample opportunities are provided to the students through various activities house-system, competition, work experience, co-curricular activities and computer education, leadership in the society in which they belong and scout and guide. Special attention is given to ensure profound morality, discipline and character formation in the school.
The managing committe of the school include representatives from parents/ guardians and the teaching staff are responsible for the overall smooth running of the school. The school enjoys the co-operation of parents/guardians, the teaching staff and the people of the locality in the realization of its noble aims.
History
St. Mary’s High school was established on 8th March 1966. The school produced the first batch of HSLC candidates in 1984. In 1991 the school manage to secure a position in the state level in the HSLC Examination. Since then till the 2020, the school produced twenty seven position holders in the HSLC Examination.
PRESENT STATUS
St. Mary’s High School is under SEBA (Secondary Education Board of Assam) and follows NCERT Curriculum. The school has classes from Nursery to Class X with about Three Thousand student and Seventy teaching faculty. All the classes have sectional divisions and the students are handled by trained and highly experienced educators. The school curriculum blends both academic and non academic activities like sports, cultural and literary activities to bring about all round development of a child.
